Bookshop treasure

I entered a bookshop the other day and yes it’s strange to hear the word ‘bookshop’ because with all the ebooks floating around Amazon and iTunes it’s any wonder that they still exist but yes, I entered a bookshop the other day and procured two new reads.

One of these books I’m already quite enamoured with (if the pictures included aren’t any indication of this then I don’t know what is) and I’m finding it hard not to pick it up even if it’s to read a few paragraphs or to caress the cover. It fits so nicely in the palm of my hand.

I can’t say I’ve ever read vampire lore before and although I’ve always been interested in readings books and watching movies which included them in their story lines I’ve never looked too deep into where such creatures originated from. But after this discovery my curiosity has been aroused and once more instead of looking at the surface I want to delve a little bit deeper. Where did Bram Stoker get his ideas about Dracula? How do so many countries have such similar histories about blood drinking monsters? Could there possibly be some truth to the stories?

And so I’m feeling the urge to indulge in my curiosity.
